Publisher Comments:

Pete the Cat is back — and this time he's rocking in his school shoes. Pete discovers the library, the lunchroom, the playground, and lots of other cool places at school. And no matter where he goes, Pete never stops moving and grooving and singing his song... because it's all good.

Review:

"In his previous outing, blue cat Pete proved his ability to roll with the punches when his white sneakers were accidentally stained red. Sporting the red treads for the first day of school (they match his electric guitar), Pete is again unflappable. 'Pete has never been to the library before! Does Pete worry? Goodness, no! He finds his favorite book and sings his song.' School setting aside, little differentiates this book from its predecessor. There's humor to be found in the deadpan expressions of Pete and his fellow cats as he sits with friends in the lunchroom, plays at recess, and solves math problems on the board. But whether the simple refrain and Pete's blasé attitude actually assuage anxious schoolgoers is another story. Pete's song is available as a download. Ages 3 — 7. (Aug.)" Synopsis:

Another comicand#160;tour de force from three-time Caldecott medalist David Wiesner. Mr. Wuffles ignores all his cat toys but one, which turns out to be a spaceship piloted by small green aliens. When Mr. Wuffles plays rough with the little ship, the aliens must venture into the cat's territory to make emergency repairs.

Synopsis:

A 2014 Caldecott Honor Book
and#160;
In a near wordless masterpiece that could only have been devised by David Wiesner, a cat named Mr. Wuffles doesnand#39;t care about toy mice or toy goldfish. Heandrsquo;s much more interested in playing with a little spaceship full of actual aliensandmdash;but the ship wasnand#39;t designed for this kind of rough treatment. Between motion sickness and damaged equipment, the aliens are in deep trouble.

When the space visitors dodge the cat and take shelter behind the radiator to repair the damage, they make a host of insect friends. The result? A humorous exploration of cooperation between aliens and insects, and of the universal nature of communication involving symbols, andldquo;caveandrdquo; paintings, and gestures of friendship.
