Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.

Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

This book grabbed me from the beginning! I find it very original and my love for it grew more and more as I read it! It's enchantingly intoxicating with drama of the main character who is so good and light sucked into a world of darkness she never knew she was already apart of. But there is some bright spots and one of them is Kaiden Rowe. Kai is "HOTT" and will make you swoon. Their love is very forbidden and you will be rooting for them all the way. Don't get me wrong, it's not all dark, this book will make you laugh a lot. The characters in it are wonderful and Higgins does an amazing job with the trilogy! I definitely recommend.

Sweet Evil was as fantastic as I hoped it'd be :)

First order of business (I need to get the fan girling out of the way first): KAIDEN. He's so... I can't even put him into words, because no matter what I say, it's not going to justify him. Just know: he's hella-mazing.

Moving on...

I liked the new perspective on Nephilims. The nephilims are all sons and daughters of fallen angels, and their purpose is to "work" for their fathers, as in influence others to do bad things.

I thought it was cool how Anna was from GA, since I lived there for five years. And my family went on a road trip when moving to WA, so I rode in a car from GA to CA, too.

One of the things I liked the most about this book was that it was heavily focused on the relationship between Anna and Kaiden. For example, there's the road trip Anna and Kaiden took. During that time, they got to know each other better, while the reader got to know more about Nephilims (not to mention Kai, too). Sometimes, I felt like the two were just going in circles (especially after the road trip), but overall, I found it entertaining to read about their relationship.

The main weak point of Sweet Evil was its plot because there was no complexity to it. Since it's part of a trilogy, as I started getting closer to finishing the book, I kept expecting a big conflict to reveal itself, but there was no "bigger picture." Even so, I enjoyed the other aspects of the book too much to down grade its rating.

I think Sweet Evil is a definite must read for all YA Paranormal Romance fans. I really hope that there will be some news about the sequel soon, because I hate waiting for books, and I really want to know what will happen next!
