Synopses & Reviews
Join Pete in New York Times bestselling author James Dean's Pete the Cat picture book series, as Pete has a Valentine's Day adventure — complete with poster, punch-out valentine cards, and stickers!
Pete the Cat thinks Valentine's Day isn't cool... until he realizes how many special cats there are in his life! Pete works hard to make valentines for everyone, and it turns out to be the grooviest Valentine's Day ever. But what happens when he realizes he's forgotten to make a card for a very important cat? Join Pete the Cat as he discovers just how special Valentine's Day can be!
"Appropriately enough, Pete's latest includes some valentines for readers: a large foldout poster, a sheet of stickers, and 12 punch-out cards. In the accompanying story, Pete starts out as a skeptic: 'Valentine's Day is not cool,' he tells his friend Callie. She responds that it's her favorite holiday, and Pete needs no more convincing than that — as soon as he gets home, he starts making homemade cards. By book's end, Pete has distributed valentines throughout his community; he forgets about Callie, but she's understanding: 'Hanging out with you... that's way better than any card.' Just like Pete skateboards his way through town, he slides through these minor Valentine's Day dramas effortlessly. Ages 4 8." Publishers Weekly Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.

About the Author
In 2004, Kimberly & James Dean sat down at their kitchen table to work on a children's book together. Their dream has finally become a reality with the release of this new Pete the Cat book, Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses. Both left corporate jobs in the late nineties (James was an electrical engineer; Kimberly worked in the press office of the governor of Georgia) to pursue their passion for art, and they have experienced a life made up of strange and wonderful coincidences ever since. Pete the Cat has brought magic into their lives. They work in side-by-side studios in Savannah, sharing their home with five cats and Emma the pug.
