My book club group in school just finished the book Time Cat by Lloyd Alexander. The book is fantasy, but it seems true. The story takes place at different points of time. The two main characters are a boy called Jason and his cat, Gareth. The plot of Time Cat is traveling through time. Together they visit different countries and cultures. They also help people and solve problems that people have while at each time point. While traveling through time they find out new things, such as Jason learned Egyptians worship cats.
I understand how some of the people in the book felt about cats because I felt the same way when I had a cat. I will give four stars to Time Cat because it was a good book, but it could use more action.

Time Cat is an okay book about a cat named Gareth and his owner, Jason. Gareth is a normal, well mannered cat, until he talks. He tells Jason about cats disapearing and all, and the reason? Oh, you didn't know cats can TRAVEL THROUGH TIME? After he says this to Jason, he winks at him.
Afew seconds later, their in Egypt, and the year?
2007...B.C. Jason then learns Gareth can't only travel through time, but he can teloport, as well.
They meet the Egyptian king Neter Khet, a twisted, rude king.
. . .
Time Cat isn't a good book, but nor is it bad.
The bad part(s) about it are the "wink and time travel" idea. It was creative, but it's 1660s. it's old and weird. The other bad part was that it isn't very realistic. I mean, Historical Fiction and fantasy just doesn't work. It's like mixing bitter and sweet. it's not good. The good part(s) about it are how Gareth can talk. It be totally awesome to chat with a cat. I learned alot about wars between the English and the french, also. how the English and the french would smuggle items across the border was something I didn't know. I thought they traded with eachother or something. Even though it wasn't my favorite book, doesn't mean it's bad. I read it, and I think you should too. Even though it's not the best book, it will still teach you something.

Time Cat is all about "business" the cat needs to attend. I don't like Time Cat, I always thought every adventure was the same. The book is also all about a cat and "his boy". The cat has nine lives and some other great things. For more, you'd better read the book.
I guess it won't hurt to know this about what I thought about it: after three time periods (the book is divided into 9 different time periods) I got really bored but a few parts got my attention back to the book.
