Review:
"The children have waited eagerly for the gates of Willy Wonka's famous chocolate factory to open. The problem is only five children will be let inside. This is a dream come true for Charlie Bucket when he finds his winning ticket in a candy bar he buys, especially since Charlie's family is very poor and he can only have one candy bar per year. It is an amusing tale that has been entertaining kids for more than three decades." Children's Literature
Review:
"Candy for life and a tour of Willie Wonka's top-secret chocolate factory was the prize for buying a candy bar containing a Golden Ticket. Here is the exciting, hilarious, and moral story of the five prizewinners. They were, alas, repulsive children, with the exception of Charlie Bucket, whose family was so poor he could only have one candy bar a year. Rich in humor, acutely observant, Dahl lets his imagination rip in fairyland." The New York Times

A wonderful book, that shows us the extrodinary imagination of Roald Dahl. Charlie Bucket lives with his parents and his four grandparents in an old, falling apart house. They are very poor, in a middle class village. The most important part of the village is the wonderful chocolate factory, owned by the famous Willie Wonka. Willie Wonka has decided to place 5 golden tickets in ordinary candy bars. The tickets invite 5 children to visit his factory. What is so special about that? No one has ever been in there for a long time, yet it still produces sweets. Amazingly enough, Charlie is one of the 5 children, but what he doesn't know is the adventures that await him.
