This was a truly delightful book. It was brought back into print when J.K.Rowling the author of the Harry Potter books said that it was her favorite book as a child. Elizabeth Goudge created a world I didn't want to leave.

I love this book! The description makes me want to go to Moonacre Manor, and go into Maria's room. I think that Elizabeth Goudge has captured the story of the curiosity of a young girl in a new place better than anyone. And the sightings of the little white horse only make it more magical. With every turn of the page, you find something new and exciting! Nothing could possibly be left out. This book is a new beginning to the magical world of forests, castles, and animals.
