Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen was a realistic fiction. It is about a girl, Colie, who is fat and has no friends. Her mom is Kiki Sparks, the workout woman. Kiki goes on a tour and sends Colie to North Carolina for the summer. Colie stays with her crazy aunt Mira and thinks her life is over, until she meets Morgan and Isabel from a restaurant called the Last Chance. Colie then joins them by working there. One of the cooks, Norman, is a friend of Mira’s. Colie and Norman start to talk and get to know each other. She has more fun in North Carolina than she ever thought she would. “There it was, that dry spot at the back of my throat, and instantly I was fat again, my face broken out, pulling back my trench coat tighter to hide myself.” I like how this sentence in the book describes how Colie feels. This book goes back to memories Colie had and I can always picture them. The wonderful author Sarah Dessen has done it again with its fantastic page-turner. I recommend this book.

Sarah Dessen is my favorite author, her writings smart, funny, and sweet. All of Dessens books are so good, but there was something about this one that had so much more to it.
Keeping the Moon makes your relize how mean the world is, and how to deal with it.
Colie goes from being way over weight, to having a fitness crazed mom, to being fit herself, but then her reputation changes from fat girl, to slut.
Colie is sent away to stay with her crazy aunt Mira for the summer while her mom goes on some health tour in europe. It seems as if all Colie wants is to be left alone. Soon she is pulled into the Last Change resteraunt, there she meets Sweet Morgan, and not so sweet Isabell. Colie finds herself working there, with them and her Aunts friend Norman, who's a crazy artist. From them she learns how to face the world, and be a strong confident women.
Sarah Dessen is absolutly wonderful, every time i finish one of her books i get chills, and tear, because it's all so deep, and so real.
