Macy's summer stretches before her, carefully planned and outlined. She will spend her days sitting at the library information desk. She will spend her evenings studying for the SATs. Spare time will be used to help her obsessive mother prepare for the big opening of the townhouse section of her luxury development.
But Macy's plans don't anticipate a surprising and chaotic job with Wish Catering, a motley crew of new friends, or…Wes. Tattooed, artistic, anything-but-expected Wes. He doesn't fit Macy's life at all—so why does she feel so comfortable with him? So…happy? What is it about him that makes her let down her guard and finally talk about how much she misses her father, who died before her eyes the year before?
Synopsis:
Marcy is looking forward to a boring summer: She has a dull job at the library, will log many hours studying for the SATs, and will grieve silently over her father's death. Everything changes when she meets the chaotic Wish Catering crew and starts really living life. Speak

This was the first book I'd ever read by Sarah Dessen. MY sisters and friends had told me to read it over and over and I finally picked it up and was instantly pulled right in! One of my favorites by her!

This was the first Sarah Dessen book I've ever read. Amazon had recommended it to me over and over, so when I when finally saw it at Kmart, I broke down and bought it. I wasn't sure how much I would like though. But after I started reading it, I couldn't put it down! The characters and situations are extremely believable. I can guarantee that you'll fall in love with Wes and be cheering for his relationship with a certain someone to happen. This book has just the right amount of happy moments and moments that will cause your stomach much pain. The ending is perfect and it definitely leaves you begging for more.
This is one book I'd definitely recommend to any and all of my friends.

phenomenal, I've never read any books by Sarah Dessen, but after reading this one, i'm going to have to find some. Macy Queen is a believable character, she tries to be perfect for her mom after her fathers death, that's what i would do, she is also not to quick to jump on Wes, which builds there relationship. Oh and the Romance scene in the end, it gave me shivers, i read it over and over, i was so happy with her ending, and i am very picky with endings, i just thought it was great, Happy reading =]
