Every parent and teacher (Pre-K through high school level) should be required to read this book. The research and real life experiences it presents are eye opening and heart warming. Reading aloud to a child benefits the child's ability to learn and helps develop a love of reading all the while a wonderful bond between the reader and the child is created and nurtured. Note to everyone: read aloud to children no matter what their age!!!

I love this book! As a teacher, I see how reading aloud with kids really helps them develop as readers. Their fluency, comprehension and love of reading increases with every book I read to them. We develop as a community of readers and sharing book experiences helps us grow as a family.

I recommend this book to parents and I also give it as a baby shower gift. I know it's not a traditional gift, but it's one that can really grow with the child.

This is a great book for this season. It's a grand resource for titles of books for children of all ages. It is a wonderful gift for parents with information about the joys and benefits of reading to children and how to go about it. So it can be a gift for grandparents, parents, teachers and also for children who are eager to know about the books out there they'd enjoy.
