This is a wonderful, enlightening account of an immigrant family and how the younger daughter deals with living in two worlds: that of the traditional Chinese culture at home and that of the American melting pot culture outside the home. Jade Snow Wong guides the reader through her life experiences with insights to Chinese customs for a greater understanding of the ways practiced in China and brought to the US. I highly recommend this book to young readers and adults alike.
