Answers all the basic questions, even the ones that would be rude to ask. My mother standing over my shoulder making comments, we ended up reading this book outloud to each other, it is that funny. We both ended up laughing and crying over this book because it was somehow so touching. We roared at the section where the author advises against making a bedspread if you have a short attention span, and cried when she said not to make an heirloom out of packing string, and laughed again when the author tells her weight. Well written book with basic line drawings and some black and white pictures. It doesn't leap off the shelf at you. She covers filet crochet, and lace edged handkerchiefs, a bunch of other stuff and explains how to do all the basic crochet stitches. Nobody else could explain crochet to me as much as I tried but Maggie Righetti did a great job. I've also ended up with a huge affection for her after reading her book.
