Funny, witty, and wise, Kate Braestrup has written a book about loss that inspires and connects us all. Her humanness and willingness to share her tentative journey with and about god brought tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart. I loved this book!

Braestrup describes her journey as a chaplain for a public agency in Maine with wisdom that can only result from the experience of meeting people in their moments of greatest joy and greatest sorrow. While I didn't always share her perspective on things, she contemplates her experience with honesty and openness that draws you in and invites you to consider your own deeply held values.

This book offers such an important and meaningful paradigm for 'going on ' after life seemingly comes apart.
The author's style is direct but comforting, realistic without seeming cold.
It could be required reading for anyone involved in the process of losing or re-defining the direction for their life.
