Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

I like to go walking and talking with my mom.

So says Jonathan, age five, as he starts off on his daily walk with Mom through the bustling streets of the city. But theirs is no straightforward, ordinary walk. They walk in as many different steps as a child's imagination can create — from zigzag steps to reggae steps, from giant steps to crazy crisscross steps. Each step brings a new discovery for Jonathan as he and his mom explore their dynamic neighborhood. By the end of the day, the two are tired, and backward steps lead them past familiar sights as they make their way home.

Review:

"Mothers and offspring alike will delight in the final picture, as down the street these characters meander, appropriately taking 'Jonathan-and-Mommy steps' toward home." Publishers Weekly

Synopsis:

As a mother and son explore their neighborhood, they try various ways of walking--from giant steps and reggae steps to criss cross steps and backwards steps.
