Grotesque, insanity, deformity and a strange sense of love all unfolds in this gripping novel from Iain Banks. You follow the path of a teenager, Frank, viewing the attrocities he committs, and the strangeness of his life. Throughout the novel there is secret witheld, with a huge twist at the end. You find yourself holding a burning intrigue, desperate to find it out. Banks creates a novel that can disgust you, whilst also produce intrigue and emotional attachement to the characters. A compelling and gripping novel, read it!
