Publisher Comments:

Whats your drink of choice? Is it a small pumpkin spice latte? Then youre lots of fun and a bit sassy. Or a medium americano? You prefer simplicity in life. Or perhaps its a small decaf soy sugar-free hazelnut caffe latte? Some might call you a yuppie. Seventeen-year-old barista Jane Turner has this theory that you can tell a lot about a person by their regular coffee drink. She scribbles it all down in a notebook and calls it Espressology. So its not a totally crazy idea when Jane starts hooking up some of her friends based on their coffee orders. Like her best friend, Em, a medium hot chocolate, and Cam, a toffee nut latte. But when her boss, Derek, gets wind of Janes Espressology, he makes it an in-store holiday promotion, promising customers their perfect matches for the price of their favorite coffee. Things are going better than Derek could ever have hoped, so why is Jane so freaked out? Does it have anything to do with Em dating Cam? Shes the one who set them up! She should be happy for them, right?

With overtones of Jane Austen's "Emma" and brimming with humor and heart, this sweet, frothy debut is sure to be savored by readers.

Being a barista for two years myself, I have gotten to where I have been able to guess what people will order for their coffee just by looking at the person. And with Kristina Springer's debut YA novel, The Espressologist, she takes this to a totally different level: matchmaking!

I am a total lover of young adult books, but many haven't been able to win me over fast like The Espressologist was able to do. Brimming with humor and very likeable characters, this was a very enjoyable read. I was able to really connect with Jane, the barista who is able to matchmake people through their coffee preferences, and even the other characters throughout the novel.

I can only see more good things from Kristina Springer because her debut was dynamite. A must read for coffee lovers and those who don't love coffee alike. I'd highly recommend it.
