About the Author

George Bradley was born in Roslyn, New York, and was educated at Yale University and the University of Virginia. His first volume of poems, Terms to Be Met, was chosen by James Merrill as the winner of the 1985 Yale Younger Poets Prize. Bradley has published two other books of verse, Of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (1991) and The Fire Fetched Down (1996), and he is also the editor of The Yale Younger Poets Anthology (1998). Among the awards he has received are the Witter Bynner Prize from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters and the Peter I. B. Lavan Award from the Academy of American Poets. George Bradley lives near the river of rivers in Chester, Connecticut.
