Publisher Comments:

Not so very long ago, Eragon — Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider — was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.

Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.

The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?

This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

Review:

"An authentic work of great talent." The New York Times Book Review

It was slow going at first, but picked up and ended with more surprises than I had ever expected! Worth the wait!

I really liked this book because there were a lot of loose ends in the other books and Paolini really did a great job of referencing all of those points.

"Then he noticed the sky, and he gasped, for it contained more stars than he had thought existed. Red, white, gold, they lay strewn upon the firmament like handfuls of sparkling dust." This book will stay with you for weeks. The detail, and the breathtaking imagery... There is nothing like it. Inheritance is to books as Avatar is to movies.
