This book was invaluable to me as a parent and as a teacher and director of a childcare center. I recommend it again and again.
The power of these techniques was demonstrated when children in my classes would tell their parents that "you don't have to yell when you're angry; J was angry and she didn't yell or simply, "That's not how J [tells us that we are behaving unacceptably]."

The techniques take practice, but help develop relationships that promote self-discipline in children.
