Publisher Comments:

A ferocious conflict of wills...

Vere Mallory, the Duke of Ainswood, has everything--he's titled, he's rich, he's devastatingly good looking--and he seems determined to throw it all away. Disreputable, reckless, and wild, the last of the Mallory hellions is racing headlong to self-destruction...until a mind numbingly beautiful blonde Amazon knocks him off his feet--literally.

An incendiary passion...

Lydia Grenville is dedicated to protecting London's downtrodden. Dissolute noblemen like Ainswood are part of the problem, not the solution. She would like him to get his big, gorgeous carcass out of her way so that she can carry on with her work. The problem is, Ainswood can no more resist a challenge, especially in female form, than he can resist the trouble she seems to attract.

If they can only weather their personal firestorm...
they might survive the real danger that threatens all they hold dear.

Synopsis:

She Needed to be Tamed . . .

She was a breathtaking firebrand, and Vere Mallory, the notorious Duke of Ainswood, had never seen anything like her. Although he thought he was rescuing Lydia Grenville from the cluches of a renowned wastrel, he quickly discovers she is angry at his interference! Amused by the sultry hell-cats's fury, Mallory vows to teach her some humility — in life and in love.

He Was Just the Man to Do It.

Lydia Grenville was fuming. She was determined to save womankind from disreputable rakes like the infamous Mallory, not to succumb to his scandelous charms. She finds herself overwhelmed by the scintillating sensations he brings to her body, but when she discover's that he has bragged that he's going to "tame" her, Lydia vows to fight his advances . . . but nothing prepares her for the surrender she finds in his arms.

Synopsis:

Award-winning author Loretta Chase creates a delicious romp enlivened by her delectably spicy banter in this eagerly-awaited follow-up to her acclaimed sizzler, Lord of Scoundrels.

Bold journalist Lydia Grenville tackled and publicly bested one of London's most notorious wastrels. Yet it's the dashing aristocrat who broke up the incident that ignites her imagination and sends scandalous thoughts into her head. Amused by the sultry vixen's behavior, Vere Mallory, seventh Duke of Ainswood, vows to teach the unruly woman some humility, but his plot fizzles when the pair go temper-to-temper, sparking the flames of passion in his heart.

About the Author

Loretta Chase was graduated somewhat belatedly from Clark University with a B.A. in English. In the interim, she was a jeweler's clerk, boutiquesales clerk, and meter maid. Thereafter she worked at her alma mater. It was while moonlighting as a video scriptwriter that she met her husband, Walter, a video producer, who eventually seduced her into becoming an author. The recipient of several Romantic Times awards, she is also a Romance Writers of America RITA Award winner for The Sandalwood Princess, and a Golden Choice nominee for The Lion's Daughter
