I am adult who loves young adult fiction. Perhaps it just takes me back to my own childhood, or maybe it's that I know the good guy is going to win. But, good writing is essential for me, and Garth Nix is a skilled author. His language flows and images come freely--you can race through his books like eating candy. His characters are multifaceted, and he has strong, engaging female characters.
