Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Now available individually in new digest-sized paperback editions, the first four books in Le Guin's magical series chronicle four young cats with wings who leave the city slums in search of a safe place to live.

Review:

"LeGuin...has written a small gem of a book, with convincing and intriguing characters. Dark watercolor etchings by Schindler further convey the plight of these airborne felines and their seeking of a home." Publishers Weekly

Review:

"Softly-colored ink drawings add an old-fashioned tone, as do the Victorian names of the cats." School Library Journal

Synopsis:

A highly acclaimed novel about the adventures of four winged tabby cats who leave the city in search of a safe place to live.

I absolutely LOVED this book, as a child, and would highly recommend it to any parent who wants to instill a sense of adventure and creative imagination in their children. Just be sure to remind them that cats don't really have wings, and that it's make-believe. =D
