Publisher Comments:

Lauren Brooke brings the emotional depth of Heartland home with the third title in her exceptional new boarding school series, Chestnut Hill.

As the girls of Chestnut Hill become closer, they learn more about one another's lives before boarding school. But Honey has a secret too close to her heart to share. She hasn't told anyone yet that she has a twin, so how can she bring him up now, when he's so sick? Then, when Patience's new pony, Minuet, is injured, Honey finds herself wanting to nurse the mare back to health. She pours all of her emotion into caring for the pony, even though she knows Minuet will never be her own. No one understands her dedication to Minuet, least of all Honey herself.

Synopsis:

Welcome to Chestnut Hill, a prestigious boarding school with a rich tradition of academics, horses, and rivalry. This year, five girls from different backgrounds will challenge the Chestnut Hill stereotype. There's witty, spunky Dylan; secretive Malory; western tomboy Lani; Honey, the soft-spoken Brit; and polished New Yorker Razina. None is prepared for the social or riding rigors, and they all doubt they will fit in — certainly not if queen bee Lynsey and her clique have any say. But if this unlikely fivesome can band together, they may prove themselves the true stars of Chestnut Hill.

This book is a fantastic story about a girl who's brother's leukimeia has come back and it's worse. She decide not to tell her friends and after awhile they start to suspect things. A new horse arrived at the stables they ride and she gets sick and the girl, Honey, has to try to nurse her back to health. The horse belongs to the friends enemies so her friends think she is turning against them. Honey's friends don't know how important nursing this horses back to health means to her. Honey finally breaks down and tells one of her friends Lani. Lani thinks of a plan to get Honey to see her brother because Honey is miserable without him. I learned that being with your family is way better than trying to pretend your fine.

When Moonlight Minuet arrives at Chestnut Hill, Honey is instanly drawn to her. Never mind that the stunning new pony belongs to Patience, who has been anything but a friend. But when Minuet gets injured, Honey wants to help. Honey's friends warn away, but Honey knows that if they knew her deepest secret, they might be able to understand.
