About the Author

Lee Child is the author of eleven Jack Reacher thrillers, including The New York Times bestsellers Persuader, the Barry Award Winner The Enemy, and One Shot, which has been optioned for a major motion picture by Paramount Pictures. His debut, Killing Floor, won both the Anthony and the Barry Awards for Best First Mystery. Foreign rights in the Jack Reacher series have sold in more than 40 territories. Child, a native of England and former television writer, lives in New York City and France, where he is at work on his next thriller, which Delacorte will publish in 2008.

This book hooked me right from the beginning, which needless to say is not an easy task. Reacher sees a potential kidnapping taking place and in typical Jack Reacher fashion decides to intervene, which has some completely un-thought of consequences. It's a perfect example of an edge of the seat thriller!!

The best part was that this book keeps you so engaged that it's a surprise to know you've reached the last page. The "Bad Guys" present a formidable challenge to Reacher. He doesn't seem quite so invincible in this book, which only makes the story better. Must read...

After leaving the Army, Reacher has been drifting around the United States, living off savings, and never staying in one place too long. This book finds him finishing unsettled business from his military days: the DEA asks him to help them deal with a man who is both a traitor and a murderer. Reacher is glad to assist, since this one's personal. Overall, a great read.
