At 29, Julie Barenson is too young to give up on love. Four years after her husband's tragic death, she is finally ready to risk giving her heart to someone again. But to whom? Should it be Richard Franklin, who is handsome and sophisticated and treats her like a queen, or Mike Harris, who is Julie's best friend in the world, though not as debonair? This book really captured my heart and soul...

From the very beginning when Julie lost her husband Jim, it was tugging at my heart strings...

As a young widow in a small town in North Carolina... the only family she has there is her dog Singer... she got him the first Christmas that her husband wasn't there... to her surprise a note came with the puppy...

Then a few years after Jim's death Julie is ready to get back in the dating world... she goes on a couple of dates and they were a bust... then she meets Richard and goes on some dates with him...

Oh the other hand... Mike... who has been her best friend for a really long time... and had been Jim's best firend all through high school and until his death... has been in love with Julie for the longest time... when he finds out that she's dating again he tries to get up the nerve to ask her out but doesn't...

Then when Richard goes out of town for a little while Mike and Julie go on a date... and come to find out Julie realized she liked Mike more than Richard...

And when Julie tells Richard she doesn't want to see him anymore he starts stalking her... he becomes jealous of her and Mike's relationship... and Richard becomes out of control soon after Mike and Julie get close and fall in love... it all takes a turn for the worse...

In the end I didn't know who was going to win... but it'll surprise you when it ends the way it does... it's an intruging story of love and that there are acctually people out there that go through what Julie went through...
