Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Chance Matthews is drawn into a battle between angels and monsters because of something in her possession — a fossil of a creature that couldn't possibly have ever existed. But it did. And still does.

Review:

"A finale that veers unexpectedly from a seemingly inevitable display of supernatural fireworks to a subtly disarming denouement only underscores the intelligence behind this carefully crafted tale of awe-inspired nightmare." Publishers Weekly

Review:

"Kiernan's prose is tough and characterized by nightmarish description. Her brand of horror is subtle, the kind that is hidden in the earth's ancient strata and never stays where it can be clearly seen." Booklist

Review:

"The author of Silk creates an eerie and moving tale of ancient terror and modern-day angst that should appeal to mature young adults and adult fans of horror." Library Journal

Review:

"Kiernan's second horror novel starts slowly but builds in page-turning intensity....Kiernan's style is lyrical and initially seems a trifle precious but ultimately proves right for the Gothic, literary tone of this novel." VOYA

Synopsis:

A new level of fear from the author of Silk, this story begins as a young woman delves into the past to discover the secret of a strange fossil that shouldn't even exist.

Synopsis:

In this haunting new novel by the author of Silk, Chance Matthews is drawn into a battle between angels and monsters because of something in her possession. She delves into the past to discover the secret of a strange fossil that shouldn't even exist.

Synopsis:

My name’s Quinn.

If you buy into my reputation, I’m the most notorious demon hunter in New England. But rumors of my badassery have been slightly exaggerated. Instead of having kung-fu skills and a closet full of medieval weapons, I’m an ex-junkie with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time. Or the right place at the wrong time. Or…whatever.

Wanted for crimes against inhumanity I (mostly) didn’t commit, I was nearly a midnight snack for a werewolf until I was “saved” by a vampire calling itself the Bride of Quiet. Already cursed by a werewolf bite, the vamp took a pint out of me too.

So now…now, well, you wouldn’t think it could get worse, but you’d be dead wrong.
