KIER8, June 26, 2008 (view all comments by KIER8)
This is a great highly practical guide for anyone who wants to know how to live as a traditional Jew in contemporary America. Rabbi Donin's book has been used as the primary guide to Judaism by many thousands since its first publication in 1972. It led to two other fine works: To Raise a Jewish Child and To Pray as a Jew. This new addition includes introductory remarks by Yeshiva University's president, Rabbi Dr. Norman Lamm. The book includes notes, suggestions for further reading and study, and an index.
