Synopsis:

An updated field manual for guerrilla job hunters

Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0 delivers unbeatable new techniques for landing a great job even in a recession. Like the first edition, this job-winning resource reveals inside strategies and techniques that get people hired. This updated, expanded edition offers breakthrough tips for using social networking sites like LinkedIn and MySpace to land a great job. Readers will learn how to promote themselves like a Hollywood movie; deploy the forbidden weapons of top-gun headhunters; and negotiate job offers like a sports agent.

Jay Conrad Levinson (DeBary, FL) is the Chairman of Guerrilla Marketing International, as well as the author of the bestselling Guerrilla Marketing series of books. David E. Perry (Ottowa, ON, Canada) is Managing Partner of Perry-Martel International, a top executive search, recruiting, and placement firm.

Synopsis:

'Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 2.0 will be revised, updated, and expanded to include new and timely information about recruiting in the information age (i.e.the use of social networking tools such as Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn), as well as expert advice from respected guest bloggers.

This completely revised and updated edition has two key breakthroughs:

  1. Instant proof and buy-in for the author\'s marketing-based methods– which teaches the value of online networking through such sites as LinkedIn, Myspace, and MANY more.
  2. The Force Multiplier Effect- which teaches the military discipline of creating multiple avenues of penetration at the same time

Guerrilla Marketing for JobHunters 2.0explains how to take full advantage of strategies and job-hunting techniques which were previously only known by a handful of insiders, but are now available as free information on the internet.  The book will teach readers how to:

  • Leverage ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, MySpace, Facebook and other social networking sites, to take advantage of “the secret lives of top recruiters”
  • Build a specialized resume that’s easy to read, speaks the language of employers and proves every claim
  • Design, launch and execute a multimodal job hunting campaign based on the same success principles used by General Norman Schwarzkopf in Operation Desert Storm
  • Understand how to articulate their unique strengths in resumes, letters, email and interviews (while avoiding the typical “resume speak” or “interview babble” that causes hiring managers to guffaw)
  • Learn how to present their skills in creative new ways that stand out in today’s hyper-competitive job market (we demonstrate that if Paris Hilton can get work despite having no known employable skills, every reader of our book can, too)
  • Employ little-known search engine optimization tricks used by top headhunters (who have to make placements or starve)
