My all time favorite knitting book. A wealth of historical information written by a woman who is truly passionate about "collecting" guernsey patterns (and like early editions of the Joy of Cooking, worth reading just for the window it offers into earlier times).

Not a book for beginning knittters, and not a book for people who like to work from complete patterns, but if you are comfortable with basic math, can work from graphs, like a bit of a challenge, and love the history of knitting, then this book is a must have addition to your knitting library.
