Publisher Comments:

«“Jenkins has created a book that reaches beyond the mundane and into the spectacular. . . . A treat not to be missed. . . . ” —School Library Journal, starred review

This visually stunning, oversize paperback (with French flaps!) is a dog book . . . until you flip it over to make it a cat book. The dog and cat meet in the middle, sharing a cozy rug. Steve Jenkinss cut- and torn-paper collages are exquisite, a fine match for the lively narrative that explores animal characteristics and behaviors as well as the role of cats and dogs in human history. A wonderful, accessible, beautiful way to learn about animal science, and nature from one of the nonfiction greats!

Synopsis:

Pet lovers are in for a real treat with this unique two-for-one picture book that flips over to reveal a doggy-dominated cover on one side and a cat-centric cover on the other. Now in paperback,  this book is a delightful read no matter which way you turn!

Synopsis:

Are you a cat lover? A dog person? Either way, this over-sized picture book with two distinctive covers is for you! Read about how your favorite companion came to be a pet and how its body works. Then, flip the book over to start reading all about the other kind of pet. The unique two-books-in-one format is filled with great information, visual facts, and lots of animal history. The collage-illustrations are so incredibly realistic, you'll want to pet them! A great read-aloud and way to teach animal science and nature. French flaps give this paperback edition an extra-special giftbook feel.
