Totally engrossing-I couldn't put it down! Had to get the rest of the trilogy. Hobb's makes this fantasy world easily assessable; no weird names, geography or rules of alternate universes to memorize. If I want to work that hard, I'll read non-fiction! Almost all of the characters are likable and relatable. It kept me guessing what the answers to the mysteries could be!

An easy reading series that encompasses both the internal and external conflict in an emotion sucking tale that drags you from cover to cover desperate to reach the next book, the next moment, to know.
Genre is a fantasy world that doesn't go overly far off the medieval path displaying both the strictures of society and rank along with the occasional disregard of those restrictions leading into broader horizons for character and reader.
Highly recommended!
