Men won't like this book; women will find it charming. When an overweight single woman has to appear with a date at a gathering of her eccentric relatives, she rents an escort. Her uncle dies, bequeathing his dilapidated estate to the supposedly engaged couple with the stipulation that she lose weight, he write a book, and they clean up the place and find its treasure or forfeit the inheritance. People turn out to be not who they seem and several acts of sabotage leave the couple wondering who they can trust.

The story is set in England which adds to its appeal. It's hard to imagine an equivalent situation happening in the US. For me it was quite the page turner, but I am a romantic at heart.

Ellie Haskell feels dumpy and unloved and wouldn't you know it she has to go to a family reunion. She hires an actor to portray her fiance. Murder and humor ensue........ Read this one first. Otherwise you'll spoil the story arc for yourself. There are not enough books in this series, so read them slowly.
