Girls Think of Everything: Stories of Ingenious Inventions by Womenby Catherine Thimmesh
Synopses & Reviews
In kitchens and living rooms, in garages and labs and basements, even in converted chicken coops, women and girls have invented ingenious innovations that have made our lives simpler and better. Their creations are some of the most enduring (the windshield wiper) and best loved (the chocolate chip cookie). What inspired these women, and just how did they turn their ideas into realities?
This award-winning book is filled with odes to women inventors and Thimmesh'scollage art illustrations.
An inspired ode to women inventors, this book documents the inventive collages of Catherine Thimmesh that use mirrors and found objects to create fantastic images. Illustrations.
About the Author
Catherine Thimmesh once discovered that if you hold your watch up to your eyes at a certain angle, the glass face acts as a mirror and you can capture an image (the room you"re in, for example) and then turn the image sideways and upside down (it"s very fun, she says). She lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her husband and two young children.
