Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

When Eric Lavender, New York psychotherapist, meets the sexy, stylish Colleen O'Brien Golden, his bachelor life quickly loses its appeal. He moves to Scarsdale to join Colleen and finds a life of domestic bliss as a husband and father. But Eric's suburban oasis is soon threatened by a conflict of interest with his lawyer-wife and the disturbing evidence of her hidden past. Eric must uncover the truth or lose everything that matters to him, including his own freedom.

As she did in her bestseller Almost, Elizabeth Benedict navigates the turbulent waters of love, power, and vengeance with biting wit and penetrating insight. The Practice of Deceit is a razor-sharp novel of marriage—and divorce—gone awry.

Synopsis:

Benedict navigates the turbulent waters of love, law, psychology, and ethics with wit and penetrating insight in her gripping thriller about marriage and divorce gone awry.

It must be hard for a woman to write a book from a man's perspective - but that is the battle this author took on and won. It is thought-provoking, funny, sad,
and at times bitterly honest. If you have ever been through a divorce you know how bad it can get fast -
and even if you havent remember the movie War Of The Roses - I was pleasantly surprised by how much I
was affected by this story. He loves his family but.....
there are problems and how to settle those problems is
sometimes the most difficult part of life. Do you fight
them out or do you try to resolve them and how do you fight? A very very interesting book.
