About the Author

Kathleen Flinn has been a writer and journalist for nearly twenty years. Her work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, USA Weekend, Men's Fitness and many other publications. She is a proud member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and the Author's Guild. She divides her time between Seattle and southwest Florida.

"It was a near-perfect meal, not just because of the food, which had been exquisite, but also because of the restaurant's loving interpretation of place and culture and cuisine. Perhaps I was lightly tipsy on ambience and Champagne, but I thought I could read a story in some of the dishes."

This is a rather lovely book. It was a cookbook -meets history - meets memoir. There was more French history than I expected and sometimes it seemed a little out of place. But I enjoyed the times when she spoke about her own experiences in Paris and added a little bit of philosophy and optimism. I just got back from France less than 2 months ago, and this book made me realize how much I missed. There is always more to see in Paris and by reading this book I felt like I got to experience a little more of it.

It was a quick read and it made me smile and made me feel like I was in France, if only for a little while. I definitely recommend this book. It's a lovely little escape.
