Publisher Comments:

Do you remember being hopelessly confused in calculus class? Afterwards, you asked your brainy friend over a cup of coffee. "What was going on in that class?" Your friend then explained it all to you in five minutes flat, making it crystal clear. "Oh", you said, "is that all there is to it?" Later, you wished that friend was around to explain all the lectures to you.

How to Ace Calculus will play the role of that friend. Written by three gifted teachers, it provides brief and highly readable explanations of the key topics of calculus without the technical details and fine print that would be found in a formal text. Capturing the tone of students exchaging ideas among themselves, this unique guide also explains how calculus is taught, how to get the best teachers, what to study, and what is likely to be on exams?all the tricks of the trade that will make learning the material of first-year calculus a piece of cake

Funny, irreverent, and flexible enough to use with any traditional or reform-based calculus text. How to Ace Calculus shows why learning calculus can be not only a mind-expanding experience but also fantastic fun.
