About the Author

The son of Mexican immigrants, Luis J. Rodriguez began writing in his early teens and has won national recognition as a poet, journalist, fiction writer, children's book writer, and critic. Currently working as a peacemaker among gangs, Rodriguez helped create Tia Chucha's Café & Centro Cultural, a multiarts, multimedia cultural center in the Northeast San Fernando Valley. Hello Readers,

This novel inspired me to take another avenue in life. Prior to reading "Always Running", I was lost in the cycle of "Living La Vida Loca." At one time in my life, I was trapped in the revolving door of "doing life on the installment plan". However, as a result of reading, "Always Running" my life has transformed from a negative to a positive. From one that had no hope, to one has hope and that desires to be a positive role model for others to emulate. If anyone has a family member that may be considered as an "at-risk youth" I highly recommend that they purchase this novel.

"Always Running" is a really good book for those who are in gangs and don't see what they are doing> i think it was very brave of Luis Rodriguez to write this book.

I love the title its very good, the way i see it he explains how his life is so crazy and how hes "always running" not only from the police but also his own life his feelings the truth, REALITY. At one point he says he stops running to me meaning that he straightens his life and stops running from reality from the truth from police from himslef.
