Book News Annotation:

Zaniello (Northern Kentucky U. and National Labor College) expands and updates what he figures is the only comprehensive, annotated guide to films about working people, labor activism, labor history, and related political and economic issues. The number of films has grown from 150 to 350, and now include specimens from every important country or continent. He puts them in the context of the artists' careers, and the historical and political environment. Only themes are indexed. He does not say when the first edition appeared. Annotation (c)2003 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

Tom Zaniello provides a very accurate and informative synopsis of films depicting labor issues. The work is comprehensive in the fact that it includes little known fils and documentaries, some of which are extremely rare and hard to find. Many of his revues extend to films from the early 1900's. By far the most comprehensive compilation of labor related films I have seen.
