The Alphabet of Manliness, Revisedby Maddox
Synopses & Reviews
When Citadel Press published the original edition of The Alphabet of Manliness in May 2006, it was called "the bestseller no one ever heard of," the publishing phenomenon of summer 2006. Its author, Maddox, was an Internet celebrity who was known for his online rants, such as “I Am Better Than Your Kids,” which was forwarded by e-mail around the globe, and for his 107 million viewers-per-year website The Best Page in the Universe (http://maddox.xmission.com).
The book is now in its 11th printing with over 200,000 copies sold.
Maddox returns with a newly revised and updated edition of the book that takes an even longer, harder look at the true meaning of testicular fortitude and takes readers even further into two entirely new and hitherto uncharted realms of manliness: “The Alphabet of Womanliness (as told by a man)” and “The Numbers of Manliness.”
“The Alphabet of Womanliness” is a tongue-in-cheek look at women, feminism, and the roles of gender in education and society. In other words, more dick jokes. But that's what makes The Alphabet of Manliness work; it's jokes for the thinking man, and woman.
Maddox registered the domain www.thealphabetofwomanliness.com a long time ago because he knew that some wise ass would come along some day and try to cash in on his book's success by releasing a cheeky female version of his book. Guess what? he's that wise ass.
“The Numbers of Manliness” is a natural extension of the same type of humor and irreverence found in the book, except with a more contemporary skew. It focuses on research found in polls and statistics about men, sexuality, and science. Like the rest of the book, the new content is short and pithy, so someone flipping through the book in a store can get a satisfying experience without having to invest a lot of time trying to get into it.
Also included is an eight-age color insert of unique pieces of art by eight different artists, which depict Maddox in eight different ways. This alone will make the new edition a must-have for Maddox fans.
Internet icon Maddox's phenomenal "New York Times" bestseller "The Alphabet of Manliness" is revised and updated to take an even more expansive look at the true meaning of masculinity. color insert.
