Publisher Comments:

Finally, a baking book focused entirely on savory baking! Developed by one of America's top pastry chefs, Savory Baking collects 75 inviting recipes for bakers of every skill level.

Popovers, scones, and crackers pair perfectly with wine, while galettes, souffles, and strudels work equally well for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Fresh herbs, nuts, mushrooms, meats, and cheeses produce such savory delights as Peppered Pear and Goat Cheese Scones, Canadian Bacon Bread Pudding, and a showstopping New York-Style Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheesecake.

Savory Baking is both an ideal guide for adventurous bakers and the ultimate sourcebook for those who prefer savory eats to sweet treats.

the recipes in Savory Baking are easy to prepare and delicious! I spent hours deciding which recipe to try first and went with the scones stuffed with caremlized onions and brie. They're tasty and perfect for a snowy evening's dinner.

There is a nice selection of recipes and some surprising combinations, such as sharp cheddar and cherry biscuits, and savory cheesecake. For novice bakers, Mary Cech includes a primer on kitchen procedure and tools at the beginning of the book. Beautiful photographs highlight the dishes, further tempting the reader to start cooking.

These dishes are perfect for dinner or for serving at parties. I think I'll make the chicken dijon brown betty next!
