Caren Anderson and Carl Baldwin fell in love while on the hunt for black velvet paintings. Together they opened the Velveteria museum in Portland, Oregon, in 2005 and are the world's leading authorities on this underappreciated art.

Black velvet isn't just for Elvis! This is a wonderful, colorful book featuring work from the most amazing collection of black velvet paintings in the world. After flipping through a few pages, the most discerning critics of art cannot deny the appeal and merit of this particular medium. Anderson and Baldwin have done an exceptional job showcasing the work of recent history's most skillful velvet painters.
