John Bonica, May 10, 2009 (view all comments by John Bonica)
Superbly written and photographed, the recipes in Saveur Cooks Authentic Italian are well-balanced, delicious, and truly authentic. Graciously celebrating Italy's distinctive regional characters, this book represents some of the finest family recipes I have ever encountered in one volume. As a first generation Italian-American and the owner/cook in a small restaurant, where culinary expression is deeply personal, I have come to rely on Saveur Cooks Authentic Italian as I would on a beloved aunt.
