Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Includes bibliographical references.

Review:

"A highly interesting tale of outlandish adventure of a sort to stir the pulses and arouse the wonder of even the 'jaded' novel reader." The New York Times Book Review

Review:

"Conan Doyle's 1912 novel introduced his other great character, Professor Challenger. The original 'dinosaurs still living in a hidden jungle' tale, this timeless adventure has inspired everything from King Kong to Jurassic Park and is still the best of the lot. Great fun." Library Journal

Synopsis:

In this first book in the Professor Challenger series, Challenger — considered by critics to be one of the most finely drawn characters in science fiction — and his party embark on an expedition to a remote Amazonian plateau where "the ordinary laws of nature are suspended."

Synopsis:

Two scientists, a big game hunter, and a journalist travel to the Amazon rain forest. On a volcanic plateau, they discover an isolated world still inhabited by dinosaurs, climaxing in a chase scene with a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

I really enjoyed reading the book,it was better than the telivision show or the Movie, I like the suspence in this book because, it kept me on the edge of my seat and it is full of action and it kept me wanting to find out more about the book. It is so good that I want more books like it or more in the series of professor challenger.
