The Other Side of Oregonby Ralph Friedman
Synopses & Reviews
Distributed by the University of Nebraska Press for Caxton Press
Eastern Oregon is less well known than the West of that state. The two "sides" of Oregon differ dramatically in climate and geography. But it is the people and their stories that set the east apart and which take center stage in this, another of veteran author Ralph Friedman's odes to Oregon.
Book News Annotation:
Another affectionate gathering of Oregon history in anecdotes --Friedman's seventh.
Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
"A deeper dimension . . ." said Ralph Friedman when talking about his latest (and possibly greatest) book, The Other Side of Oregon. This volume is filled with stories about people and places that make the state special, spiced with philosophical tidbits from the author.
About the Author
A Chicagoan by birth, Ralph Friedman first saw Oregon at the age of seventeen after hitchhiking and riding boxcars across the country. He has written on every state and continent except Antarctica - but Oregon is his major interest.
