A very interesting and moving account of the "Meek Cutoff" wagon train of 1845. A young adult book but I think anyone interested in the Oregon Trail will find this a good read. It is a fictional account of a the real King family who settled at King's Valley near Corvallis.I really felt that I could understand the excitement and the despair of such a monumental journey. My family, the Terwillger's of Portland were part ofthis trek and from our oral tradition I know this a very accurate account of the events that transpired. I recomend this book to anyone who is interested in history in general.
