A fine quilting book for the beginner who wants to use speed piecing techniques. Michell's book presents clear, straight-forward instructions with good graphics. The author does not require an aspiring quilter to slog through an entire volume's instructional prose before beginning a project, but still offers a firm informational foundation from which to launch into that project. The quilt designs, though basic and easy to execute, are very attractive. It won't be the last quilting book you buy, but it would make a very solid first choice.
