About the Author

Gail Damerow is the author of many books on raising animals, including The Chicken Health Handbook, Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens, Draft Horses and Mules (coauthor with Alina Rice), Your Goats, and Your Chickens. She is a regular contributor to Backyard Poultry magazine and former editor of Rural Heritage magazine. She and her husband operate a family farm in Tennessee, where they raise chickens, guinea fowl, turkeys, rabbits, and dairy goats.
