Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

A prostitute, her pimp and her brother are locked in an unholy triangle of terror in Perversity, Francis Carco's stunning and sordid story set in the slums of Paris.

Translated by Jean Rhys, called by the critic A. Alvarez "the best English novelist," Carco's amazing and unsettling story of lust and murder was vilified upon publication as a novel "in which the Marquis de Sade would have reveled." But all who read Perversity will be gripped by its stark revelations of twisted desires, its power, its keen penetration into the souls of abandoned women and men.

Synopsis:

A lonely man crazed by love!
