About the AuthorB. Tokyo 1927. After retiring as a Japanese teacher he became a volunteer teaching Vietnamese refugees in Japan. He is a leader of the "Shibuya Minwa no Kai" (Shibuya Folktale Association), storytelling and working with the elderly to preserve Japan's own oral traditions. B. Tokyo 1954. A graduate of Tokyo's University of Fine Arts, she is a professional artist and has illustrated many books.
