Publisher Comments:

It started off innocently enough, when someone suggested we create a book of tips, based on items posted on The Home Shop Machinist and Machinist's Workshop online message board. The support was overwhelming, as other members enthusiastically stated their desire to see such a book.

I began compiling the tips around the middle of May 2004, and as I sit writing this, a month later, I've come to realize just how much this clan of machinists has grown on me. I enjoyed the time that I spent putting this book together, as well as the contact I had with this great group of guys. The topics wasn't always machining, but you always managed to learn something. I genuinely looked forward to coming to work in the morning and checking the boards, seraching for tips, but also taking in plenty of the off-topic humor. I couldn't possibly give enough thanks to the book's contributors. The grand total is 29 contributors from four different countries (America, Canada, Great Britain and Scotland). So here it is, The Home Shop Readers' Tip Book, written for home shop machinists from home shop machinists. I hope you will enjoy and be able to glean as much information as you can. Many of these tips are simple, and well worth the effort.
