This is the kind of anniversary edition that parents and grandparents love. It takes us back to our own childhood, and provides a continuum between us the little tykes we are reading to, and who enjoy it! TV, and computers notwithstanding:)It gives kid's authors an impetus to write imaginatively.

At the Maker Faire this spring, I mentioned this book to my friend David, telling him that it was one of my favorites when I lived on Mercer Island during first and second grade. I am very happy to see that it is back in print, hope that many others come to enjoy it as much as I did--still have my childhood copy (thanks Mom!)

This was the favorite childhood book of my own children back in the late 60s/early 70s. I've since discovered that it was the favorite of hundreds of other people too. Imaginative and has wonderful illustrations. My daughter, now an elementary TAG teacher, uses the book in her classes to study differences in personality and interests. An outstanding book!
